OUR TEACHERS
Heather Booysen is the studio owner and teacher and has done so for more than 30 years. She teaches both the Irish and Highland classes. She is a member of the Worldwide Judges Panel Official Board of Highland Dancing (Scotland) and apart from teaching, is a regular adjudicator of dancing competitions in South Africa and recently judged the Scottish Dancing World Championships in Scotland.
She is a Fellow SDTA (Scot) (Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance Scotland), Associate; An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha (Ireland), and a member of ID (SA) (Irish Dance South Africa) and WPCDA (SA) (Western Province Celtic Association).
Shannon Wannenburgh is the assistant teacher who has been dancing in the studio since 2002.
She is studying a B.Ed (Foundation Phase), graduating this year and is working towards getting her TCRG to teach Irish dancing.
Both our teachers have a passion and immense love for dancing and people. They love to teach any age and always have fun in every class. At Claddagh we make sure every dancer is always included, feels good about themselves and always tries their best.
